Morland Wins Business-Education Partnership Award at Powys Business Awards 2025

12.11.25 The Mid Wales Regional Skills Partnership (RSP) was proud to sponsor the Business-Education Partnership Award at this year's Powys Business Awards — a category celebrating collaboration between businesses, schools and learners to inspire future talent and strengthen the region's workforce pipeline.

Winner of the award is Morland.

The award recognises employers who go above and beyond to provide meaningful learning experiences, skills development, and industry insight for young people. This could include work placements, site visits, mentoring, curriculum support, apprenticeships or collaborative projects that bring the world of work into education.

This year's winner was Morland, recognised for their strong and sustained commitment to working with local schools and students to provide practical, hands-on experience of modern manufacturing and engineering. Their approach helps young people understand real career pathways available in Mid Wales, while supporting the development of valuable technical and workplace skills.

Rachel Jones, who accepted the award on behalf of Morland, is also an active member of the RSP's Manufacturing & Engineering Cluster Group, supporting ongoing discussions around skills needs, recruitment challenges and opportunities for innovation within the sector.

The RSP also congratulates the two impressive runners-up in this category:

  • EOM Electrical Contractors Ltd - a member of the RSP Construction Cluster Group, actively supporting apprenticeships and encouraging young people to consider skilled careers in key trades.
  • Classic Car Specialist Wales - recognised for their engagement in showcasing heritage engineering techniques and inspiring interest in specialist craft skills.

Speaking after the awards, Emma Thomas, Mid Wales RSP Chair, said:  "This award shines a spotlight on the incredible work already happening across Mid Wales to support the next generation. By building relationships between employers and education, we're helping young people access real opportunities — and helping businesses secure the talent they need for the future."

The RSP's work focuses on bringing employers, education providers and partners together to understand skills demand and drive investment that meets regional needs. This includes supporting industry-led cluster groups, local labour market insight, and collaborative skills planning.

Together, we're connecting industry and education to inspire future talent in Mid Wales.
